I have an external axis set as Turn1 and I'm trying to avoid unwinding it at the completion of each move. I know Motoman has an endless axis option but not sure how it works.
Do you guys have any experience with this ? Is there a manual ? I imagine there is a reset/zero instruction or something that would reset the encoder . Thanks.
DX100 External Axis Endless Option ?

Yes, the MRESET instruction will erase the amount of rotation of your external axis. For example:
MOVJ EX000 VJ=D023 MTE=10
MRESET STThe external axis will turn 10 times and stop with erasing the number of rotation.

this is a paid function. do you have it enabled?

Thank you. Does the MRESET instruction actually reset the encoder or just the axis data? Would the encoder get to its maximum counts after a while ?

Thank you. Does the MRESET instruction actually reset the encoder or just the axis data? Would the encoder get to its maximum counts after a while ?I had this issue as well and couldn't find away around unwinding back to zero position. I would also like to know if it is just the axis data or encoder or if there is a way to "re Maser" on the fly?

The MRESET instruction reset the axis data and there is an option that allow you to reset automatically your rotation without writing in your code "MRESET"(we can call it ON FLY OPTION ).
-
what's the the fly option ? removing the encoder battery . LOL ?

The MRESET instruction has a couple of parameter in which you specify the axis that you want to reset and the way you want to use the instruction. One of this way automatically erase your rotation without the use of the MRESET instruction in your code.
As said before is a paid option. -
ok. got it. thank you. I'll play with it next week
