You can read and edit .ls files on the computer with word, notepad++, etc. however they can not be uploaded the the robot. You can't read the .tp files though without FANUC's RoboGuide off-line programming tool.

1. As the other guy said, you can save as an ASCII File (.LS) and edit the text. To reload that program you need the Ascii option for your robot.
2. You can use WinOLPC for TP editing. Cost around $800 I think.
3. Roboguide which like Winolpc gives you a TP editor, you also get a robot simulation to visualize what the robot will do. Crazy enough, this software is around $8000.
You can also get the Remote option that you can control the teach pendant(CANT JOG IT) from your Internet explorer browser. Very usefull! I use the ASCII way too.
There is a Remote jog function via pc. It requires that you log in with a specified ip address on the pc and the robot must be in auto mode.
Olpcpro is probably the cheapest way to do remote programming, since you only need to buy it once, not with every robot like the ascii upload option. You can use a text editor and compile with Olpcpro.
