i want to weld a component using irb2600 robot with irc 5 controller
should i interface it with plc or can i perform all the functions available in a plc through irc 5 controller
i want to weld a component using irb2600 robot with irc 5 controller

Which make is welding power source and what is communication medium between robot controller and welding power source
there is welding software add- on in the robot
i have programmed the movements using flexpendant,
once i finish programming im not going use pendant anymore.
want to know if i could directly give the external signals( cycle start , cycle of,emergency stop...) to the irc5 controller
You can set up buttons on the teach pendant using "TPreadFK" to select different routines to run. You have emergency stop built in to the teach pendant and the controller cabinet. You can set up trap routines to stop program execution automatically when certain undesired states occur.
So, to answer your question, Yes, you can run production without PLC.
hi
i have done the programming to interrupt if emergency is pressed using trap routine
but now the pp is stuck at the initial line of trap routine
the error comes out like "variable and trap routine already connected"
error;it is not legal to connect a variable more than once with a routine'
Sounds like you have it as part of a loop. Your initial trap setup should be in its own while loop, and then move on to another while loop for the rest of production. Example below.
While boolDone = False DO
(Setup Traps)
boolDone:=TRUE
EndWhile
While TRUE DO
production routines
EndWhile
