Need help understanding this alarm better and how to get rid of it. I have RJ-3 controller and this alarm pops up every time I release SHIFT button.

The PMC is issuing user alarm 20 for some reason. Without the pmc code, that is all I can say.

This alarm prevents me from running in AUTO mode, unless I hold the SHIFT button. Is there any way of fixing this problem ?

You could change the severity of UALM[20], change $UALRM_SEV[20] to a 0. This will change it to a warning. This is a hack way to do it though. The proper way would be to fix the PMC code.

I looked at user alarms to start with to see if there is anything that triggers this alarm. Unfortunately I can only display 10 alarms. They are all empty by the way. I can't see anything past 10. Tried to scroll down but that's all I can see. Is there any trick to see the user alarms 11 and up?

That's pretty odd for the PMC to reference a UALM that doesn't exist. You could increase the number of UALMs by doing a controlled start and increasing them under the PROGRAM SETUP menu.
To do a controlled start, hold PREV and NEXT on the teach pendant while booting. You can let go once the teach pendant says "launching operating system". A menu should appear, and then you just select controlled start.

That robot is not setup properly. You can call the integrator asking.
If you have iPendant, you may go through the ladder logic in PMC display.
It may get very hard depending how it was written. -
Bump.
We have a pallatizing robot that is intermittently throwing this code and shutting down. There have been no changes done to the robot, it seems to have started doing this out of the blue.
Any advise is appreciated.

check G2.3 in PMC for UALM[20]
