i work in a plant that uses fanuc robots and allen bradley 5000. i Have a problem with a couple robots that they just loose their programs or have a fwd/bwd disabled. with the fwd/bwd disable if you put it in manual press select and hit enter on the program its in it will start back up. i just dont know why they are loosing their programs. and confused on what fwd/bwd disable actually does. any kind of help would be great!!!!

FWD/BWD disabled means that your buttons forward and backward do not work. I guess to prevent people from running your programs in teach mode. You can enable/disable it by pressing fctn and then disable fwd/bwd.
You are losing programs, do you mean they are not called/used by the robot or they are just gone. I Always put the write protection on for each program to prevent accidental deleting/modifying.

i have tried to do the function key but that does not work. and what i mean by loosing the program is it will be in the middle of running a program and runs a macro that handshakes with the plc i will walk up and it will say no prgram selected or you try to step it in teach and you get the disabled error. but on either of these problems if you press select and hit enter on the program selected it will start to run again.

That is a strange situation, do you have programs running in the background? Background logic or is there a monitor instruction in your program?
If you can post an AOA backup I can have look in roboguide.
