I am creating a new hmi for a cell we have and i am wondering if it is possible to access the list of programs on the pendant remotely. There are a few programs that i want the operators to be able to run from the hmi and so it would be great if they can select programs from there.

I am not sure if what you are asking is possible, but what we have done in the past is allow the operator to type the program name into a string register. We then call the program in that string register using an RSR call.

Ok yea i didnt think about that. Thanks

what you want is very possible. however it is not simple. if you are using the iPendent customization software provided by Fanuc, then you can use the ComboBox Control to display a list in a popup menu. the most simple use of this is to display all of the string registers and have the user select one. this will return an INTEGER of the SR index to a specified variable. you can fancy it up by making a Karel program to provide the list, but it will still only return the index of said array.

The selection list can be populated by various data fields:
List of programs with program type filter
Contents of KAREL string array
Dictionary elements.
List of file names.
List of string registers. -
Our HMI's have a program select list which allows you to choose a program name and attach a robot program # to is. this is just a table that you can set a name and number to, linked to I/O When the part number is selected on the screen, it sends a GI[x] value to the robot, and in my main program, I call out the program determined by the GI[x] value

Yea we do that right now through what we call our recipe to call out a specific sub routine. But i would like to be able to abort all and then select AMAIN which is our main program and then hit start from the hmi. I can do everything from the hmi but the abort all and select the amain program.
