Hey awesome people! I have an inherited old YASNAC ERC K10S, which I am tinkering with. I'm totally new to this kind of robot. I can load, run, and create programs. But I'm lost trying to figure out a few things.
1. Is there a way to know what hardware and software options are installed in the robot? I'm not asking for the passwords. I just want to know what this robot already has installed.
2. Direct communication, I want to control the robot in realtime over a serial connection. I understand that this is "Remote" mode, and was a purchased option, and one that involved changing out / reflashing some ROMs. Is this right? Do you think I could find the option kit on ebay somehow?
3. I think I understand that pulse codes tell the robot what position each joint should be in, is that correct? In general terms, how do those codes translate to the robot's position in space?
4. Ultimately I'd like to direct the robot to put the tool at (x,y,z) coordinates, without needing to direct the position of each of the joints. Is this possible? What is it called?
