So do you like to start/stop/reset controller with external I/O? If so easiest way is to config UI/UO to physical I/O and then use those. And after that you have to active UI interface in use MENU->0->6->F1-> COnfig-> Enable UI signals. And also change star type from same place to remote
Well right now i have digital i/o coming from a proface. So they are not physical i/o (not hardwired) they are bits enabled from a plc so i wanted to use some of the spares we have. So i know in the config menu i seen the remote/local setting and below that i saw the external i/o start but i didnt see one for hold and reset;.
How are you sending the from the PLC, are you using Ethernet or hard wired to you Model A? I generally use Ethernet, if this is your case setup TCP/IP with IP address of PLC and config your UOPs e.g. rack 89 slot 1 start 1. Then follow steps rookie with robots posted.
Ok so i have the i/o i need. My big question is where do i set them up to hold and reset. I see the start signal in the config but i dont see anything for hold and reset. For example i would like DI305 to be my hold signal and DI306 to be my signal to reset.
I think this is how you do it
Go to, Menu>IO>UOP>IN>Config(F2) and configure UI[6:Start], UI[2:HOLD], UI[5:FAULT RESET] to the same RACK/SLOT/START as that the DI's that your are planing to use.
Thanks that seems to be what i need. I also found i can do it in my pmc.
So I just got into a project, a cell had been sitting for a year due to issues. I have a 30ib plus with compactlogix, but no Rockwell software yet. I have a hold on my robot. Its from a panel view, I can robot see robot home button but get an in progress but it will not home. I disabled uop do in and out. Still a hold on the pendant. Any suggestions
