Hello everybody,
I'm wondering if it would be possible (and easier or faster) to use the serial port of ABB S4C controller instead of the (Bull sh*t) floppy disk !!!
I never tried it, but do you know if it's possible or not ?
Hello everybody,

ABB has a floppy to usb converter now that you can put on S4C or S4C+. Then you use their software program and it partitions your USB drive into several 1.44 MB partitions.
The great part is that you can put all of your Boot software and programs on one USB.
Good morning,
I know this "USB drive", but I'm talking about robots from one of my customer. I'm not sure he will accept any investment for these kind of driver.
My question is : is there any possibilities to use the serial com to load/unload files instead of using the floppy drive?
thanks
I am not sure about rs232 but it is possible to file transfer with ethernet communication. There is a NFS Protocol for this work and you can also use for S4C robot if you have computer and NFS Server program. I have attached one file about this subject. I have done before for one of my project and its working very well. You need just one computer, software and ethernet card for S4C robot.
