I have an OSACOM 5000 robot controller controlling an ARC WELDING ROBOT Model IRB-211. I'm having trouble finding any information at all on these machines and was wondering if anyone had some on them. Cheers.

Hi Scott, this is an OTC DAIHEN robot (LK-LA-SA) system , known around the world under other names.
Send me a PM if you want info. However, please note this machine is well obsolete and like so many other machines, is very robust in most areas with only one or two Achilles heels , in this case it's the "Fujitsu Bubble Memory" L308N01- It is no longer supported in any way & subject to power fluctuation corruption . We still have many Osacom & LK - LA parts , but no working memories. -
Thank you for helping mate. We have the robot operating and it has done the job we required it to do. A week after it had done its job I turned it on as usual and it comes up (bubble memory abnormal pls restore memory).
What does this mean? It had never come up before, why now? Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you. -
Hi Scott, it means the bubble memory is corrupted , possibly recoverable or totally non- compusmentus .
If you have version 248 software you can try to reinitialise the memory and see if it will recover , if you haven't then the robot arm would make a great boat anchorage, the arm will probably settle into the sea floor mud and be difficult to dislodge.
If you look at the E-Proms on the Top of the door , please take note of the numbers written on the Chips and send them to me.Don't need them all just 5 or 6 in sequence.
As has been mentioned over the years , the Fuji Bubble memories are no longer supported or manufactured in any way and haven't been for many years. -
Hi,
The numbers you are asking for
IC401
IC402
IC403
RA405
It says we have version 161 software. Does this make sense at all? -
Hi Scott, unfortunately you would need to find alternative/extra set of initialising e-proms for the 161 version , nowadays that could be impossible.
All this being well , there is an 80 % chance the Bubble memory is not recoverable.
In all honesty don't waste any more time on it. -
Hi,
We feared this. It is a rather old machine. Just lucky it got the job done before this. Many thanks for all your help.
Much appreciated.
