Hi all I was wanting to use the RI and RO signals that can be sent in and out of ee 20 pin connector on m6i robot arm. I have the pin out diagram but are not Shure how to wire a relay there is 24 volts there I think NPN. Would be a great help if a simple wiring diagram showing how to wire relay or turn on a light and what size coil in relay it can operate also how to wire an input signal .I have read that a spark killer diode may be required what is that for.
Thank you Trevor

This is what i would do if I dont have absolutely no clue
Wire a male 20 pin connector that matches your female EE
Hook it up and measure the 24 and 0 vdc wires and see if it is ok
Pick for example RO1 and meter it against the 24 vdc and the 0 vdc. Here you will find out if the outputs are PNP or NPNAt this point you will have 24 vdc and 0 vdc on your RO1 or 0vdc and 24 vdc on your RO1
Get the relay, the coil should be marked + and -
As far as the diode, connect the grey strip side to the +

Thank you
I can follow that information for output signals but do not understand what the diode does size or perhaps description so I can get one. as for the imput signals to go into RI do I need to fit diodes some how on those . The imput signals are I assume just either open or closed contact switches -
Try 1N4007 diodes
Screw the grey band strip on the + terminal of the relay and the other end on the - terminal
The diode is restricting the + voltage to feed back into the - -
Thank you Fabian have successfully hooked up relay can turn on and off with I/O RO1 on and off When I run a program I can turn on and of at various taught points . Is it possible for me to have signal turn off on estop at the moment if I hit deadman switch whilst in the middle of program the signal to relay stays on until I go past the RO1` off command line thank you

Is that one question or two questions ?
I'll give you an idea Background logic (This is an option, you might not have it)IF (UI[1:*IMSTP]=ON AND RO[1]=ON), JMP LBL[1]
JMP LBL[2]

RO[1]=ON
