why sockets only?? Did you think use web server or parsing xml files?
I can send to you template of sockets on fanuc. -
Can you explain more about parsing xml files? I am trying to find a way to get positions (X,Y,Z,rX,rY,rZ) from a PC to a robot. I have been going the route of sending the integers from the pc one by one. What you mentioned sounds like I could send an xml file with all the info to the robot, and have it peel out the coordinates.

KAREL has many XML-related builtins that are documented in the manual. You could potentially 1) upload a file with XML position data to the robot, 2) provide a signal to the robot that it's ok to read the XML data from a known location.
Hard to say if this is easier or more efficient, but it may be worth a try.

Hi! I'm sorry, I wrong read your post. In situation when need send data from controller to PC we can use xml files or other methods. When need from PC to controller we need see status of connection for safety reading data and exclude duplicates. Because in this case maybe sockets is better.
P.S. sorry(( -
PLEASE ALSO SHARE WITH ME..........I AM DOING PROJECT ON SOCKET MESSAGING OR INTERACTING WITH CONTROLLER ON ETHERNET CABLES.
