Please provide the method to convert dxf file to Robcad *.co file format.??? for Eg, a dwg file Plant layout is to be inserted in Robcad cell. If converted from dwg file to R14 dxf file, then converted to *.co file thru robcad, several *.co files are generated. Is ther any method to get one single *.co file which constitutes the whole plant layout.

use the explode and purge commands in autocad.
type explode in the autocad comand line and select everything in the drawing (and follow the prompts) ( keep repeating until the number of entities stops increasing)
type purge in the autocad command line (and follow the prompts)
now save it as a dxf r14 file.

I'm at home sick so this is out of the top of my head.
Me I never use robcad self but go through cmd window.
First explode and purge as simspec says. This is not always enough. you can open a cmd window, go to where the dxf lies.
type dxfin [dxf-file] [compname] 1 (check with dxf -h) choose the number that does not invoke the robface in.
So now your left with a robface file.
Type robfacein [robfacefile] -onecomp.
This should give you a robcad component without most of the nitty gritty.
By the way just type robfacein -h and see what you can do to a robfacefile. -
Forgot to mention the cmd prompt. but as an added bonus it is quicker running the converter through cmd prompt than through robcad (normally quite a bit quicker).
When you have converted the dxf to robcad open it in robcad and display all.
Then:
General Tools > Delete > Small (and set epsilon to 1 (or whatever value you want - any entity that fits in a cube that size will be deleted))> Accept.
You may be surprised how many there are and what a reduction in file size it makes.

Thanx simspec a valuable extra bit of info

From my expierence with converting DXFs to Robcad, I find it easier and much quicker to use the "igesout" command in Autocad, then import the iges file into robcad, Yes the result of the Iges file to .CO is larger, but with the detailed layouts I work with, converting a DXF file is just not worth the time, not sure if others agree with this method
