I have been studying the I/O connections but it's still a bit confusing to me. Since I'm not an electirician, I would like to ask a few things about the connections. I have S4Cplus controller and one DSQC 328 I/O board.
Outputs:
Outputs need to have 24V at X1.10 and X2.10. and 0V at X1.9 and X2.9, right? Let's say that I want to connect 4 devices to the X1.1-X1.4. I already know the basic idea that a wire goes from output to the device and another wire comes back to 0V. Are all the wires coming back from the devices connect to the same X1.9? What I want to know is that is it possible to just put bunch of wires to the same pin or do I need some kind of extra equipment? It sounds a bit difficult to connect so many wires to the same pin.
Inputs:
Inputs need only 0V to pins X3.9 and X4.9, right? Since sensors need also 24V, how do I connect them? Does it make any difference if my sensor is PNP or NPN? For example, I have 4 sensors which I want to connect to the X3.1-X3.4, how is it done?
Supply:
I noticed that there is XT31 which gives these 24V and 0V I mentioned earlier. The question is somewhat the same here. Is it possible to wire 24V and 0V to multiple locations from the same XT31 or do I need some kind of extra equipment? I also noticed that the DeviceNet carries 24V at pin 5 and 0V at pin 1. Does these pins provide a voltage to the Inputs and Outputs or does they have some other kind of meaning?
