Hi! Sometimes I have used to establish a network between a bunch of KRC2 and a PC where the program are archived from each controller. I've changed the archive path to the networked PC with KrcConfigurator. This works great. My question is... does this configuration work even on KRC1? I've never had the possibility to test it... can KrcConfigurator archive on a network path in KRC1?
LAN NETWORK WITH KRC1 and ARCHIVE DATA

I don't think it's a controller feature, more due to the version of KSS the controller is running. Version 2.x used to have a setting for network archiving within KSS, but from v4.x you had to use the configurator.
As long as you have a LAN connection to the controller there is no reason why it won't archive to the LAN.
What version KSS is it running?

With KSS v3.x, I don't recall ever seeing a means to change the default location of the Archive away from the A: drive (that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but I never knew of one). But my Archives became too large to fit on a 1.44MB floppy disk. So I used a quick hack: all the robots were networked to a central PC. I set the robot C: drives to read-only network share, and wrote a script on the central PC that would copy the /R1 directory of the robot to a directory on the central PC periodically. That way, if the robot did lose its hard drive, I still had the files to rebuild it with, even if it wasn't as convenient as a standard Archive.

SkyFire that is what I have in my mind. I did something similar with Windows XP (KRC2) but no experience with Win95 (KRC1). KrcConfigurator was something to use because I need an operator to manually save the archive (they already know how to archive on floppy). But I can solve the problem let the operator saving the archive from the central PC... thanks.

I think there maybe have been a file to edit, archive.ini? It's such a long time ago, but there was definitely a way as I remember thinking it was a backward step when we changed to v4.x until I discovered the cconfigurator. -
\krc\INIT\archive.ini although I'm not sure if it's the file I was actually thinking about...
