What should my weld parameters be for a 5/16” weld. Right now I’ve got 26.5V 390 Wire speed and 32 IPM. Does anyone have a link to somewhere that shows you what travel speed your robot should have for various thicknesses of material?
Cheers.

you have other variables not listed wire size and gas position etc
both affect fillet dimension.
It is not an exact science...adjustments from nominal are nearly always needed
But here is a basic weld calculator
Sorry there was no linked to your reply.
Every time I use synergy lines of Welding machine and make a few weldings to adjust the welding speed and welding angle.I would be so interested to see this welding calculator Tony Gast said.
I had purchased a book on robotic welding processes from http://www.weldreality.com This proved to be helpful setting up new processes.
you should have different parameter settings for different thickness. if you can't find your answers in exsiting sources, why not try it by yourself?
or you can go to the robot supplier for some help.
this is an article about automation system. robotic welding issues and changes. http://www.thefabricator.com/article/automa…-and-challenges
