We have an EOAT that will engage into conical pins. While I'm driving into these conical pins, is there anyway to turn the torque down on a certain axis to allow the robot to settle into place? I have tried everything I can, and can teach the robot perfectly, but it's always about 1/8" off on the way in and doesn't quite line-up the same way each time. The idea was to put these conical pins to fixture the EOAT to the table, with the belief that the control's guy (that would be me) could magically make this work.
The only thing I know of that might work would be a servo float, but I have never had to try that and I have heard nothing but oscillation horror stories about it. While I have warned the powers that be of these horror stories, I'm afraid they will make me attempt it if nothing else works.
Does anyone know of anything else that maybe worth trying?
Thanks in advance.
