You see this board that says A2?

Carefully remove the cables, unscrew the two big screws up and down and slide it out towards you.

Inside you will find the two NiCd packs. These need to be replaced in order for the robot to keep the mastering.

But for now, there is no software in the robot.

Do you have a laptop, serial cable with DB25 plug and a backup file with the extension .lmd?

I have files for the robot.

    I have several laptops but...

The installation must be done with Windows 95 or 98. The laptop must be a very old model to have the comport and be able to install Windows 98.

archive file with .lmd extension? - can you tell me in more detail what this file is.

Perhaps you can load Win95 inside a Virtual machine. This is how we used to work with these robots/

For the serial port you can use USB->Serial adapter. Most of them work well.

The complete image of the software is a file with the extension .lmd. Perhaps you have that in the files that came with the robot...

    OK.

I will do everything you suggested.

I already have a virtual machine, a few details remain to be read on it and I connect to the robot/this laptop has COMРORT/

It will be more difficult with rechargeable batteries!

Can I have a temporary solution with batteries or external 24v. How many amperes does it draw?

This battery for 24v. and with the machine on do they have to be replaced?

I have emailed the files I have.

    Hello,

for the rechargeable NiCd packs, I wouldn't use standard batts. The robot has an internal charger. You might damage the charger, the batts or do something even worse.

the 24V NiCd packs, you replace them with the controller OFF

the 3x AA batts on the front, always with the controller ON

Yeah, that's exactly what I was worried about.

If I put small standard batteries corresponding to voltage and 1500 mili amps? I have seen this on the forum installed outside.

Will these files / I sent them / become reinstallable?

The charger and the batteries are on the A2, connected with two cables.

If the batteries are non-rechargeable, I don't know how you can skip the charger.

I suggested to KUKA once to replace the NiCd with Pb and they said "no, because the charging cycle is designed for NiCd and anything else will stress the charger".

NiCd between 1200 and 1600mAh is OK, but don't go higher. KUKA said that bigger capacities will also stress the charger.

I'm sorry, I haven't received any files. But if there is no .LMD in there, you will have a hard time
