Yeah I have but because mine is an older robot they dont have a cad model for it

Does anyone have a Cad model for the IRB 2400L that they wouldn't mind sharing with me. Or know where to get one> Thanks

I am trying to weld some complex parts with a new robotic welder we have just recently purchased but its difficult to keep consistent angles and distances while trying to re-orientate while programming with teach pendant. so I want to use an offline software. Can anyone recommend any to use that wont break the bank but is still good. I was going to go with ABB's own software but it doesn't support the older robots we have like the s4c and s4c+.

Same as Iowan for S4C+ & IRC5.When traveling, I carry a quality OEM cable with snagless ends and an RJ45 M/F crossover adapter instead of separate straight & crossover cables.
Where did you purchase these, was it from ABB?
-
I must try this, I was told the cable had to be a special crossover one so never even tried a normal one.
-
Yes this works, Thank you.
-
I need to make an Ethernet cable for ftp file transfer. Does anyone know what the crossover connection is called or what coloured wire goes where
-
I cant do this as my plc only has one Ethernet port and I need it for connecting the HMI screen. and my robot with s4c controller doesn't have Ethernet.
-
I wont need that many only need 5 or 6 options max
-
Ah yes, I understand now. Not sure if I will have enough spare outputs to do this then on my plc then.
-
So then would I just use an output from the plc in correspondence with each case?
-
yeah I'm sending I/O to the robot telling it when to lift a wheel in and out of the machine when it has finished what it needs to do and not letting the machine operate when the robot is not at a safe position. So I can do that easy enough. Its just what exactly do I send to the robot in order to make it load and run the program.
-
Whats the group output? Also what values are to be sent to the robot?
-
I am making a production line for wheel assembly's. An irb 6400 with s4c controller will be lifting the wheels in and out of machines. There are different types and sizes of wheels so will require different programs for each one. I am controlling the production line with a PLC with a HMI screen, I'm wondering if when I change the program on the PLC can I also call the relative program on the robot without having to actually go lift the teach pendant and change it manually there.
Thanks

Is M98A an S4c+ controller ? And what would I have to do to the other robot? Do I just have to get an Ethernet port for it or is there one on them somewhere?
-
We currently have an IRB6400 with s4c+ controller, IRB 2400 with S4c controller and soon to have another IRB 6400 with s4C controller up and running. One of the robots has an Ethernet connection and another has a USB connection. Im Wondering is it possible to get all these robots connected to our server so that they can be accessed from the office to transfer files instead of having to take a laptop down and start plugging cables and usbs in. If this is possible what would I have to do.

Can someone point me in the right direction to where the power rating label is located on the controller. Iv looked around but cant see it. I am not sure if i'm looking in the wrong place or else someone has removed it
-
Its no load running continuous.

Hi does anyone know the average power consumption of an ABB IRB 2400L and s4c controller in kwh. Running at half speed. Or does anyone know how id go about finding it out.
-
Yeah thats what I was thinking as you would never be able to press the e-stop on the machine while the robot was running
