EXT mode would require an external PLC, or a series of buttons wired into the Omron inputs and an operator to push them in the correct sequence.AUT mode will still require you to configure all those signals, like $MOVE_ENABLE, but you will only have to do it once, and then control the robot from the KCP.
EXT is intended for scenarios where the robot is slaved to an external PLC. AUT is intended for a robot that is alone, with no higher-level automation to answer to.
One issue with using AUT on a GM KRC1 is that, from what I recall, AUT mode was removed from the key switch. So the first thing to determine is if your KRC1 has AUT mode available:
1. Where is the mode select key switch located? On the KCP, or on the cabinet?
2. How many modes does the key switch have?
3. As you select each mode, what indicator does the KCP show? The mode (T1/T2/AUT/EXT) will show in the status bar at the bottom of the KCP screen.
thank you.
1. switch locates on the cabinet.
2. 3 modes the switch has: auto/t1/t2
3. when select auto on switch, kcp shows "EXT"
