FYI , I got Feedback from Kuka Focus Center, they say it's impossible to get Kuka Bios and the only way is to buy a new Motherboard.
Thanks all

When I jump the Power ON/OFF on the motherboard pins, the screen switch from GRAY to BLACK but PC don't boot. The command to restart seems to be working but computer don't start. Then I can switch main disconnect or remove Power to the computer nothing will happen until i remove the motherboard battery and replace it. something looks wrong with that mobo

What is that "Power ON" jumper ?!? In the attached Motherboard manual, Page 7, On the front panel ? Or it's something about the Setting Switches and jumpers on Page 28 ?
Thanks a lot Panic mode

Hello guys, long time since i posted here !
I got a KRC2 Ed05 - KSS 5.14 - looks like a fujistu-Siemens Motherboard D1688. I got a configuration error when booting computer since I changed the Motherboard battery. On this version i think there is no Jumper switch directly on the Motherboard to load the Kuka Specific BIOS.
Everytime I boot CPU, we got those message.
System configuration data updated
ERROR
0271 : Check date and time setting
WARNING
0251 : System CMOS checksum bad – default configuration used
So I enter in the BIOS and set Time/Date, then do "Save and exit" and the computer don't restart (Screen go GRAY). In fact, the CPU will never restart until i remove again de Motherboard battery. If i close main ON/OFF Switch and put it back ON, the screen stay BLACK until i remove/replace Motherboard battery.
Somebody already saw something like this or where I can find the "Kuka BIOS" configurator for my PC if there is any ?
I'm in contact with Kuka Focus center, I'll post here when I got something new.
Thanks a lot

I don't know exactly all the answers, but it's about 3 years i work at this compagny and never did any version change since then. So KSS 5.4 is installed from a long time ago and never got any issue like this and no special message. I found a CD of KSS 5.2.12 so my best guess would be that it's a upgrade from there.
Kuka said the problem could be a techpackage. they didn't find anything anormal and i sent them an archive of before and after the issue. They said i should re install KSS. Looks like we are not gonna find the issue on this one !
Thanks a lot guys, really a nice community here !

T1, T2 or Automatic the result is the same. I'm in contact with kuka, they say it's maybe a timing issue since kuka hmi start before another module has completely loaded. I'm waiting for more details and i will post the result here. Maybe will have to re install KSS.
There is no spaces in iosys.ini. And no changes on this file from a long time ago. Thanks again ! any other idea ?
The file VxWorks.freeze was created the date of the problem begun. But deleting this file didn't change anything. Thanks for the hint !
I don't think there is a difference, if i remember correctly, i tryed to boot in T2 and in Automatic (Not external).
I could try next week in both test mode if it could help finding the cause.
It's weird
Hello !
Since we got a electricity outage, our controller can’t start kuka_HMI when booting without the following error:
KUKA_HMI.exe – Common Language Runtime Debugging Services
Application has generated an exception that could not be handled.
Process id=xxxxx, Thread id=xxxxx
Click ok to terminate the application
Click cancel to debug the application
Every time we reboot or try to launch “START KRC” this error happens.
But we found a way around, if we just kill the kuka_HMI.exe when the error occur, and keep others alive (like Cross3…), we can start the kuka_hmi.exe directly in the folder of Windows (Something like C:/KRC/HMI/kuka_hmi.exe) and no error occur. From there, everything seems fine and working…
It seems like the argument from “Start KRC” is making kuka_hmi.exe to crash or something.
Someone already seen this ? Thank you
Kuka KRC2 Ed2005 with a KR240 – Software 5.4.14
Declare youre variable in config.dat as a signal
SIGNAL JOB_START $OUT[301]
Then you can use the name
PULSE(JOB_START, TRUE, 0.5)
Put it in ReadOnly ! In the navigator screen, highlight you re program, files attributes : ReadOnly !
Working with KRC2, i dont know for KRC4. Do this only for the .src because the .dat saves/modify you re variable thru the program...
$IN[1025] is the kuka Always ON variable. Check you re machine.dat files if it's the same before crash. I think if you are operating robot in External you will need to map this variable for user safety for operate.
Sounds pretty logic
Maybe you could valid the position sent from the PLC with the position of the workspace envelop BEFORE sending it to robot, so that the PLC don't send it and from there the robot could go back home without leaving is envelop.
Just a suggestion i don't know you're setup and you're movement form.
You could make a executable lauched by PLC who simulate mouse clicks to override the Working Envelop ... Forget that not accessible in EXT, like Eusty mentionned.
Do a Wait Sec 0 before the timer_stop(6) = True would work ?
Xerces, depending on robots but not more than
10 000 Hours Lubricate O-ring (A4,A5)
20 000 Hours Oil change for gear train (A4, A5, A6)
Or 5 years because of oil ageing
that's what the manual says
Can this be related to the $SAFEGATE_OP input in $machine.dat ?
Machine.dat
$BRK_DEL_EX : Brake delay time for external Axes
$BRK_MODE : Brake control mode (INT, 4 bits to set)
Personally i would recommend buying a robot with a KRC2 directly. Switch from KRC1 to KRC2 are possibly (Like when the KRC1 is damaged) but if you search in this forum about the procedure, you'll see it can get complicated quickly. For the price difference I'm not sure it's worth it.
Maybe more something like this :

By the way, VKRC2 are Volkswagen-KRC2, means they have Volkswagen special configuration, like Leon said.
If you put a wait 1 sec in you're submit, you will retard you're entire submit check of 1 sec. So it's not recommended to put Wait instruction in SPS.
