Hoe did you get that project? From controller or you created it from scratch? If so did you do merge?

On krc2 you can switch from menu between 1 % steps and usual 0,1,3,10,30...
Read the manual

it is definitely some sort of IO driver. what is the robot used for and what options are installed?
-
i have done this a while ago and as i recall it was no different that setting up external axis. it means select correct size KSD, axis type rotary or linear etc. unused axes are simulated with something like
$AX_SIM_ON='B1110'

What limits?
CWRITE documentation states that content of C:\KRC\Roboter\UserFiles must not exceed 10Mb. OP mentioned 100MB file....
-
-
But KSS 8.3 can support read/write operations on text files natively.
yes, but i think this also has limits...

You don't need any response from Kuka, just create an account by yourself.
it requires "real" email (company, school or whatever). Yahoo or similar don't seem to work.
-
1. yes, you can do up to 8 triggers at the same time.
2. why not simply try? do you have access to robot? that would be the best way to get acquainted with any system.

##>"interesting, is there some examples i can work from?"
search forum
##>"i'm looking at KSS SI, and there doesn't seem to mention about streaming"
you would need t write your own... many have tried to do so with RS232 on KRC2 and EthernetKRL on KRC4. it is not for faint hearted... this is why robost and ready to use solution like CamRob is recommended.
##>"does this mean an upgrade to 8.5 would solve the issue?"
Not sure, ckeck ith KUKA. My understanding is that this would allow execution of programs that are som 3x larger or so. What you are looking for is may be orders of magnitude more. KSDS upgrade cost may be similar to price for CamRob
##>"and thanks to those that recommended CamRob, but knowing kuka, I probably can't afford it at this moment, I'll keep a note of it."
why not follow up and request quote? quote is free....

i don't know... KUKA certainly has more pull than individual users. If KUKA meant it, it would announce plan to switch to other RTOS, maybe Linux based. i am sure WindRiver would be VERY sensitive to such news and this would be dealt with swiftly.

this is not in any menu, it is in a file thar need to be manually edited:
C:\KRC\ROBOTER\Init\HW_inf.ini
also this does not turn on some 'other' GUI, this changes environment but GUI is the same.

Supposedly they allowed Kss8.5 to execute programs straight from Hdd/Ssd so it can run considerably larger programs either way memory limitations on a system with PC based architecture are just ridiculous.... Wasn't the memory key reason to move away from embedded to PC based system?
-
Just plug the mouse in ..
-
Don't put program and data in robot memory if you have a lot of data. Stream data... Or use CamRob
-
Correct,. Just enter distance in tool direction axis and of course watch for sign.
For example if tool direction is X, retracting would be:
LIN_REL {X -100} #TOOL
