I was wondering if anyone knows how to donate a robot(Fanuc) industrial type, for a tax write off? We are removing ours from our facility.

Depends on lot on who you donate it to. I would start with local community colleges or vocational schools. They should have established procedures for accepting capital equipment donations, and the correct paperwork and receipts to allow you to do the tax deduction without attracting the eye of Sauron-- I mean, the IRS.

I will check around. My only concern is the size. Just the arm itself is nearly 5000 lbs. Going to be tough to transport and they would have to come get it.

Yeah, that would be an important detail. You'll want to be clear upfront about if you're willing to forklift it onto their truck if they come get it, whether you have ground-level access or loading docks, that kind of thing.

We accept donations but unfortunately 5000lb robot is not something we use for educational purposes. If you have any small robots in future please keep us in mind. Send PM direct.
