Good afternoon,
A customer is having issues consistently connecting to a robot EOAT mounted Cognex vision camera. Camera is model # 8402 setup using In-Sight Explorer software, the robot controller is a YRC-1000 with a GP50 robot and is using the YASAKWA Smart Pendant. The camera is connected via a single POE cable. The 2 main robot alarms are the "Camera1 Not Connected" and "Camera Response Timeout" alarms. The camera cable shows no wear and the customer has been trained to know how to connect their Ethernet cable from their laptop to the Ethernet switch inside the robot controller cabinet, set IPs, etc.
What is interesting is that when they are unable to connect to the camera via the In-Sight software, they are still able to ping the camera. The only way I know for them to be able to reconnect their laptop to the camera is either wait for the 12-15 minutes it takes for the camera communications to timeout, or power cycle the camera/robot. I believe as long as they don't continously attempt to connect via their laptop/workstation, the robot does not fault out for these communication alarms, so I recommened that they do not attempt to connect to the camera from their laptop unless absolutely necessary. Any tips/info on this issue?
