Some informations about PTC :
o Abnormal overheating: detected by contact with the arm. The origin of
the fault must be analyzed: excessively high surrounding temperature.
If all thermal probes are faulty, there is probably a problem of incorrect
detection by the DSI (see below).
o Detection error: if no hot spot is detectable on the arm, check the
thermal probes circuit for short-circuits between wires or to earth.
o If connections are ok (no cut wire, no short-circuit), make sure that the
DSIs are in working order: D1 and D7 light up on DSI-M, D0 and D1
light up and D3 blinking fast on DSI-F. If not, refer to above steps
(STARC – DSI communication)
Carry out the following two tests:
DSI must not detect any fault when all thermal probes are shunted. It
must detect a fault when the circuit is opened.
The tests can be conducted by observing the D2 status on DSI-F (lights
up = no fault) or by the MCP messages. If not, replace DSI-F board
