Repairing which Robots?

  • Hello,

I am not trying to do sales on this forum. I work for a smallish Industrial Electronics company. We have been in business for over 20 years. We have and do repair a lot of boards, drives, pendants, etc. for robots. We do a lot of work for other, larger repair facilities, and that is where we get almost all of our robot work.

If I wanted to purchase a used robot, and then begin to push sales for repairs for boards, drives, pendants, etc. for the robot, what would be a good robot to start with? Generally, the industrial repairs that we are the most successful with (sales wise) are not the biggest manufacturers or the most commonly used equipment from the big manufacturers, but brands/models that are less common.

Are there makes/models that are particularly hard to get repaired?

I am not really a part of the robot world, but the "repair down to the component industrial electronics" world.

Does anyone here have an opinion on this question?

    Best,

    Jeff
