Hi all-
My company has several Rethink Robotics Baxter collaborative robots and are currently looking to donate one to a school, university or other center than can use it for educational purposes. This is an industrial version of the robot, NOT equipped with ROS, with a Unitronics PLC for communicating with outside equipment and sensors. It also has 2 parallel grippers with all of the original parts in two accompanying boxes.
We need to donate the robot at the cost of shipping it (currently located near Philadelphia, PA) and we need to hold it in a warehouse for several (6+) months to allow its value to decrease to the point that donation is an option. However, there will be a vetting process for the possible recipient so that can be occurring at the same time as the attrition process.
I cannot guarantee any support from myself or my department for getting the robot and/or PLC running, though I would not be against a few pointers via email at the start.
Thanks!
