Dear colleques
Can anybody know who is main supplier of gearboxes for comau robot's ?
We bought new robot's Arc4 but during job we had crash. Comau Service decided to change gearbox ( to be honest complete arm with axis 5,6) - it was 11 000 Euro !!! !!
Finally the told us: this type of robot have weak 5 and 6 axis, if you have crash in future probably you must have spare axis on stock.

Arc4 spare is always the forearm, because the gear assembly is complicated and shims need to be used to be sure there is no backlash. This is not a repair that can reliably be performed in the field. I think they offer also repair service, which could bring down the cost. Stuck wire sensor is very critical to Arc4, programming should be done so that a failure of this sensor does not lead to catastrophical crashes (e.g. leaving a weld position at 100% speed should be avoided, and/or acceleration ramps smoothed).

We had the same problem. We turned directly to the gearbox manufacturer and ordered gearbox from it. It cost 650 euros not 11000 for entire arm.
