I have a few arc mate robots, 2 on rj2 controllers, 2 on rj3 controllers, and 1 on a rj3ib controller pre ipendant. All 5 are running lincoln powerwave 450 welders and synergic 7f wirefeeders. I also have 2 arcmates on rj3ib controllers with lincoln powerwave 455m welders and powerfeed 10 wirefeeders. I am wanting to know if I can upgrade my 5 older robots to newer lincoln welders and wirefeeders like the 455m. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

We just completed this upgrade, went from an anolog powerwave 450 to a new powerwave I400, with a 10r wire feeder. The new powersource, and wire feed are now digital.
You have to buy an analog interface box so the new digital welder will communicate to the robot controller. Your lincoln rep. should be able to supply you with everything you need. They have a kit that is made just for this. Comes with powersource, wirefeed unit, interface box, and the new cables required. Dont forget to order a set of drive wheels for the wire feeder, not included with feeder. This swap was completed in 1 1/2 days. The cost of the kit that includes every thing you need was $15,417.00 This was for a rj2.
