Hi everybody,
I needed a tool to recover my Administrator password for a Kuka controller version 5.x. So I began to analyze it and made a tool that is able to find and modify the Expert and Administrator users on a Kuka controller.
Here is a demo:

Here is how it works. The "Refresh" button look to see if the password have been changed since the last reading. The "Always on top" option will put the application always on top of everything. This option is practical with the next one: "Always scanning". This second option always scan and refresh the process of reading the passwords. So if you want to see "live" when a password has changed, select this option. Combined with "Always on top", you won't miss it, as it will always appear on top of the Kuka HMI. When the GUI detects that a password has changed, the text box turns with a green background for 2 seconds to show you that something happened to the password. If you want to change the password without having to use the Kuka HMI thru "Configure -> Miscellaneous -> Change password", simply change the password in the appropriate text box and click "Modify". What is interesting is that normally, the Kuka controller won't let you put a password having less than 4 chars. With that tool, you can put an empty password if you want and it will work! Finally, under "Tools", you can select the option "Reset to factory default" if you want all the passwords to be as a plain new install.
Please note that this tool is not intended to be used to recover passwords you are not supposed to have (even if I know so people will). It was developped to help people recover a lost password on their controller.
Update: the tool has been tested on a v4.x controller. So I may now say that it supports both v4.x and v5.x KRCs.
