We're machining foam sculptures with an IRB6400 m94a S4, system boards DSQC 317, 325, 326, BaseWare 2.0.
The position files may have 200,000 points, and splitting them up into 2,000 point programs isn't very practical.
1) Is there a way to have an S4 controller read files directly from the floppy drive, rather than loading each module to its onboard memory?
>>EDIT: We swapped out the floppy drive with a usb drive. I can only use a small portion of a 4gb flash drive when the controller formats it. Is there a workaround to increase the storage space?
2) I currently have Baseware 2.0. Are there advantages in 2.1 or 3.0 for this purpose?
>>EDIT: I'm looking into RAP over serial line, but I can't get it through ABB (they can't sell it "in good conscience" as it's unsupported) has anybody got a backup copy of the RAP option?
Thanks for any help you can give!
