On our production line, we use AB RSLogix5000 as main PLC to control fanuc robots via ControlNet. I have some questions about setup and the communication between PLC and robots:
1, on Fanuc robots side, I checked I/O configuration.
DI [1-128]: Rack 85, Slot 44, Start 1;
DO [1-128]: Rack 85, Slot 44, Start 1;
I do not know why they use the same rack and slot?
2, on PLC side, we set up User-Defined type tag to control robots, e.g.
When physical input “IA04_20_00.1” is ON, tag “Line.Estop_Ok” will be ON;
“Line.Estop_Ok” is used to enable tag “R1.DI.Cmd_En”;
Then we transfer/copy tag “R1.DI.Cmd_En” to robot DI8 which is also UI8 (ENBL), because we configured UI as the same as DI.
So in this case, do we give real 24V/0V to robot DI, or just send internal signal to it?
If the robot works well under internal signals, how to set it up? For me understanding, we call them “DI” and “DO” that means there should be 24V input or output.
