Scenario:
R30iA Controller, new.
Adding torch cleaning station.
Need to trigger the torch cleaning station using analog output, and allow the cleaning station to signal finished via analog input.
I'm not an electrician, and the maintenance crew wired the scenario as such:
Start command for cleaning cycle, +24V, control signal output from robot controller............BLUE wire landed on A3 Space 5 of the Analog output block
0V/DC supply voltage from robot controller...............WHITE wire, He used this as a common and landed the wire on the - side of the internal DC transformer
24vdc+ DC power supply voltage from robot controller, BLACK wire landed on =24v side of the internal DC transformer
Input signal to robot control "clamping cylinder open.....GREEN wire landed on Analog Input space 5.
I've since learned that the Analog blocks in the controller are negative 24 volt DC. So I'm assuming that a relay cube will need to be added. But I'm also concerned that he should have landed the common WHITE wire onto the I/O blocks somewhere, correct?
Also, it's been years since I've programmed an analog output into a program. How would this be done to send a signal to the torch cleaner to indicate the robot is in position>? I can't figure this out to save me.
Will analog I/O need to be mapped in any particular way?
I have photos of the schematic and how it's wired, but get errors when trying to upload here. More than happy to send these via email.
