Line tracking question: when the tracking trigger is set and the robot starts tracking the conveyor does the tracking frame's origin move with the conveyor relative to the world frame, or does it stay stationary relative to the world frame while the conveyor moves? I'm using a camera to detect parts on the conveyor and feed their positions to the robot. If the camera knows where the tracking frame origin is and that origin stays stationary in the tracking frame but moves in the world frame, the camera can just calculate how far away from the origin the part was when the picture was taken, and it won't matter if there is a small delay between that time and the time that the robot receives the position data. If the origin is not stationary relative to the tracking frame however, then latency becomes a problem because by the time the robot receives the position data from the camera the part will have moved relative to the origin. Thanks!

Jay over at his blog wrote up some stuff on line tracking, which you may find useful.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was looking for! Looks like that blog has a lot of other helpful information about Fanuc robots too.
