So I take it you are painting? Are you using a HVLP gun or a rotary atomizer (bell gun)?
I'm not sure about the High and Low, but the atomization pressure can create rundown (if by that you mean sags/runs). The atomization pressure determines how well the paint is atomizated as it leaves the applicator. Too much air gives you a dry spray that results in a grainy appearance, too little gives you a wet spray that can lead to sags. Usually you would do testing to find the right setting.
