hi, everyone
i want to control the welder to feed wire forward and backward by using my panelview component. i did the connection between panelview and plc, plc and robot, now my problem is how can i convert the robot DI from plc to robot output to the welder. i tried the command interconnection(connect input to output), but the welding signals are listed in weld output(wo), i couldn't find this option in interconnection(it only provides di to do,ri to do and so on.) do you have any idea about this problem? my welder model number is Panasonic YD-350RF.
anyone knows how to do?
control weld command by plc????

What controller generation and software level.? (always tell us this 1st)
Are you talking cold inch feed rate for instance changing a tip or wire spool? Or actual weld wire feed speed parameters?
Either can be done by writing to sys vars. -
the plc is ab micro 830, software for programming is CCW(connected component workbench). my question is how can i convert robot DI to robot WO? I did the connection between robot and plc as well as robot and welder.
the process is this: panelview(master) to plc(slave), plc(master) to robot(slave), robot(master) to welder(slave). i have problem only at robot input to robot output. because i can get signal from plc as my robot digital input, but i can't interconnect this input to the output i want.(the interconnection options don't give me DI to WO). Also i figured out only WO(weld output) can control the welder, not DO.
I tried to connect my plc output directly to welder input, but i know little about the welder and the voltage doesn't match(the welder has a voltage of 80V while plc output is 24V as you know) -
I want to have Gas start, inch forward and inch backward, these three output. Gas start is output from controller R-J3 to welder to cause gas valve open. inch forward and backward active when i press the WIRE+ or WIRE- on the teach pendant. are you clear about it?

I mean Fanuc robot controller version & software version. Eg. R-J3iB Arctool 6.4 etc.....
OK, I understand now - not vary speed just turn wire FWD & BKWD ON & OFF (WO4/5). This may be a little trickier. I take it R-J 3 with process IO? I have done this but ended up splicing into the wire on the CRW1 cable for inch fwd. This could perhaps be written as a marco that is assigned to your PLC digital input in the macro table.Forintance press inch FWD on HMI will send DI x to robot. DI x trigger macro .tp program.
Macro:
WO[4] Inch Fwd=ON, Pulse 5 sec
EndIf you read up an macro assignment you can assign Non-motion tp programs to most any type of input. Just make sure to set group mask to all * when you create the tp macro program.
