the axis one on my RJ-3 200i keeps going out i replaced the mechanical unit, with the same model, but it still did the same thing,so i replaced 2 set of cables running into the controller. Ran for about 45 mins and fault out with a collision detect alarm. Somehow axis 1 keeps going out in the robot

Is your collision detection percentage set too high?

Is your collision detection percentage set too high?im not sure how to check this.

R-J3 and R-J3iB 200's will show a collision detect quite easily on Axis 1 (and occasionally A 2) because of over greasing.
This model does not like to have the grease full. When it says 30cc(ex ?) of grease for the PM, it only wants 30cc.
They are ultra sensitive to J1 cavity pressure.Take the grease outlet plug out (if it pukes grease when you run, you will see I'm right).
teach aprogram to exorsize J1 as far as you can with 2 Joint motions, fine termination, and a wait of say.5 between.
Run it for time starting slow (to keep from faulting) and increase speed after toime until you run at 100% for an hour.If this is not possible (due to production), take the plug out and let them run. You may want rags to catch the grease releasing.

Dr C you may want to remind Sprinkles of this one...
