So I went through and deleted all the old programs but was still showing the same error after maybe 1 modification it would throw same error again. The issue was fixed by someone else but they don’t work on the same shift as me so I have no idea how they fixed it. Every now and then it will pop back up and I just have to kinda roll with it. ClassyBanana: how do you tell wether or not the Play in progress job editing is being used?

Having same issue but even after deleted jobs from trash bin still getting 2280 error only on specific jobs, wondering if you’ve found another way to fix the issue.

Up until 2 days ago the dual cell had no known issues with memory or storage. Went to modify a job and error shows, 2280 Job memory full(2) I believe that’s exactly how it was stated I don’t have the teach pendant in hand at this moment. It seems it’s only on certain jobs, I just modified one in same robot a few minutes ago. Even deleted multiple old jobs off Select job page and trash bin. Any suggestions for other ways to free up space? Or fixes for this error? Thank you, £¢

I’m not sure the exact weight but the product being welded is definitely over 200, add in the 10 ft steel jig with massive counterweights, all kinds of other metal fixtures wouldn’t surprise me if it’s overweighted. Thank you for your help! Looks like we’re gonna either have to get a more appropriate servo for the load size or change some stuff around.

Yes, like Scotty stated, you will see 100 percent difference with what we call here a torch tender. It cleans the nozzle and also before every program with touch sense has a wire clipper. Usually the clippers will keep it close enough it won’t hurt, but if it deviates a lot we made our own wire check system based off the wire length etc. Basically a simple research motion that will keep the robot in a loop until the correct outcome is made. The most important is the wire cutter out of the two though, wire brake is helpful but we have many that for some reason or another we had to disengage and they still work perfect. Edit: I just read your response after typing this, and realized that the wire brake was needed. Ours is activated through a universal Output if that helps? Our cells are mainly yaskawa though.

Positioner is less than year old, ( 8 months/Production life) connected with YRC 1000. When heavy load is clamped in and rolled into robot side to be welded the secondary positioner rolls about 180* just recently started noticing about a 1” shift. Gap moves even farther when the Jig is in that position for prolonged period. Could the weight be too much for the servos to handle? Faulty gears/bearings? Other robots in shop have some play but are over 10 years old. Weight is approx. 200 lbs.

Dual welding robots with motoman touch sense. Randomly when doing touch sense or when one cell is welding and other is doing touch sense alarm 9121 will pop up, sometimes easily reset other times have to manually move one cell to a different position to continue program. Anyone had this problem or know of a solution? Been happening for years really putting a damper on production and unnecessary downtime.
