I have to ask, why would you want to do that?.
If you have two parallel paths that need to get welded, than you could achieve 2X faster with a single pass. It would most likely limit your robot to that specific part only, but if the quantity can justify it than power to you!

Where can I find a SKIP function similar to Fanuc instruction on an OTC Robot Controller (AX series and AII series). I have a sensor mounted to the welding torch and would like for the robot to travel until this digital input is on. Any help is greatly appreciated!
The cables seem to look just fine, and the tooling is secure on the face plate of the robot. I've read that it may be possible to lower the collision detect setting while jogging only. Any ideas on where to find these parameters?
I am interested in exploring a press brake tending robot. Has anyone integrated their own robot into this application? What problems did you run into, or did you learn anything useful that you would like to share? Thanks in advance!
You can often purchase a used CPU with pre-loaded software from eBay or similar sites. I've had to do this multiple times when purchasing used robots that did not include software backups. Ensure that it is listed as "Tested" and you can see the backup battery connected on the CPU. I will do this after exhausting all other options, and it has worked more times than not.
You need to restore the controller.
Do you have a memory card (PCMIA Card) or Floppy Disk?
Turn off controller
1. Press and hold PREV and NEXT key then press ON button on controller
After the BMON (Boot Monitor) is displayed, you can let go of prev and next keys.
2. Insert Memory Card
3. Press NEXT, >, unit F2 INSTALL is displayed
4. Press F2 Install and press ENTER
5. Press NEXT,>, unit F5 RESTORE is displayed
6. Press F5 RESTORE and press ENTER
you should be asked to run restore.cf
7. IF you want to continue press 1 and then ENTER (if not, press 0 and ENTER)
Each memory card will take several minutes so just wait patiently 
8. Once complete, turn off Controller when prompted, then turn it back on to initiate Controlled Start mode.
I've seen this happen when I have a faulty Teach Pendant and/or cable..... I would try replacing with a known good unit before software.

I have an arcmate 100iB with RJ3iB controller and the robot will randomly fault out and display SRVO-50 Collision Detect Alarm on axis 6 while jogging the robot axis 6 only (all other joints are fine). If I run through a continuous program, it seems to have no problems in auto. Any ideas? Thanks!
It would similar to how Fanuc arc sensing can find parts with 4 known parts.
Instead of an arc, I would have a robot input from the sensor. What do you think?
I am trying to locate a rectangular part on a table using an inductive sensor mounted onto the EOAT. I am able to easily locate the part by doing a search routine (skip condition = Robot Input - Sensor) on my x and y plane by using the PRX=LPOS method. This works great until the part is rotated a bit, then the program is of course off track. So I want to add two search routines on my x and y planes so I can find the appropriate offset angle, but how do I then offset my program accordingly? How can I say PR 1 (first X search) + or - PR2 (second X search) equals updated X Plane, then repeat on Y plane to find my zero position? Any help is appreciated!
I am getting some MEMO Error Codes on a used robot I am powering up for the first time. It looks as though it is missing some critical programs, but I'm not sure. The robot will jog, and I can maneuver through all menus except the I/O screens, when this happens the Teach Pendant screen becomes unresponsive. This is what I see in the alarm screen (after a full controlled reboot, once the screen is stuck I have to shut down the systems):

After additional troubleshooting it looks like the Teach Pendant cable is defective. After swapping the cable with a known working unit, the Chain Fault Reset was accepted. Thanks!
I recently purchased a used Fanuc robot, upon wiring it up and clearing the obvious alarms I am stuck with Servo 230 Chain 1 abnormal. I have went into the configure screen and tried to reset the Chain failure while in auto and teach mode. I've tried to reset chain fault while in the alarms menu (F4 I think), and on both instances I am then given Servo 237 Chain fault cannot be reset.

Thanks for your input! Does the RJ3iB Controller have iR Vision capabilities? Would I just need to purchase the package from Fanuc?
I am needing to install a basic 2D Vision Camera on a RJ3iB Fanuc robot to simply identify the position of a part located onto a shelf. I have no experience with 2D cameras, or how it will communicate with the controller. Can you give me some pointers on where to start? Fanuc iR Vision is just simply too expensive for this project so I'm hoping to purchase a Sick camera or somthing similar. Thank you!

Wanted to see what you thought about mounting two welding torches onto a single robot (assuming payload is not a factor)? This would only work as long as you leave movement onto the XYZ planes. What do you think? Could this be done, has it already, why wouldn't it work?

I randomly received a SRVO-230 Chain 1 (+24V) Abnormal fault on my RJ3 Controller. After restarting the controller multiple times it was still present. I did set the Chain Failure detection to TRUE on the SYSTEM/CONF screen per the fault remedy. After recycling power once again it seems to be working fine. What would cause this alarm? I am thinking it will surface again before long and I would like to be prepared for that. Any help is greatly appreciated!
