As the title states, my firm is doing a controls rework on a line. the CX has an older FANUC robot with a tiny mate controller. It can not accept Ethernet/IP, so to be able to make this work with the new comms protocol, I purchased a 10-slot horizontal Model-A I/O with 3 Input Cards (A03B-0819-C104) and 3 Output Cards (A03B-0819-C154). the module is 130mm tall, 430 mm wide, and 222 mm deep. As far the enclosure is concerned, what would be a decent place to look? I feel like the Hoffman mild steel enclosures might be too light duty. I've never built one of these before so I am not sure which would be the best material or vendor to choose from. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Long story short: I'm having some issues configuring an IRB 6700 for an I-Start with IFWC. Per the user guide, I make a backup and place that backup in the ...ifwc/backup folder. I did that. Then I ran the service routine "SaveUserMod" which calls "SaveIFWC." It saved my Style1, 2, and 63 modules. I then manually brought copies of my other routines not automatically generated (NoStepInMod, SafeMoveR1, R1User). I opened up sys.cfg and performed a Save As and renamed it sysuser.cfg. I did this with the rest of the items in my syspar folder. Afterwards i opened up, sysuser.cfg and added the file paths for the modules I want to load after an I-Start under Cab_Tasks. I then placed all my config files under .../ifwc/syspar/. I then performed my i-start and everything came back as expected, however I received an error that would not allow me to run in auto or move my PP to Main. The aforementioned error is error 10172: Background Task PSC_CBC. I checked for any configuration error messages but there was none. This was the only error that popped up except for the request to sync and brakecheck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumped as I have never seen this before.

Hey guys. I've worked with IFWC extensively in the past and it was my understanding that I needed to have a Style in order for me to move past PreMain. I'm currently setting my doR1_RdyStyle. I get a giR1_StyleCode that im looking for (style 1), but my PP remains in PreMain. I thought that I needed to be on CmdMain in order to send my doR1_RdyCmd. Some background info: my PLC support is trying to cobble together a skeleton of a program to go into an op that is currently a manual op. They are pulling out the operators and replacing with robots. also running a much older version of IFWC (Ford's currently approved version is V09 and they are on V06 because the line is almost 10 years old - My PLC guy's reference program looks alot closer to V06 than my V09, and i'm on V09 because this is a new robot and I was informed that V06 would be incompatible with my Robotware). It could be a real possibility that they are screwing me somewhere in their program but I just wanted to cover my bases. Thanks in advance!

Ensure the EXOFF terminals on the Estop board (shown on the first picture) are jumped or closed by external switch or relay contact.Great success. robot is up and running. thanks for taking the time to answer my noobish question.

Hey guys. new to the community and pretty new to industrial automation. A little background: I'm just getting into my second year in robotics without any formal training. Started out as a point jockey and got pretty involved with actual higher level programming on just ABB robots. really stayed out of the cabinet and just coded for the most part. fast forward to now: i'm charged with a getting a FANUC robot up and running and I know very little about them. Currently when main power is on I see my PIL light go green. inside maincabinet, I can flip the ext. 24 and i'll see that LED illuminate on the estop board (EXT24V). problem is that is all that turns on. I've checked all my fuses and connections. Fuses all ring out and connections seemed to have been seated properly, but still re-seated for good measure. Had a much more experienced programmer come out and take a look and arrived at the same conclusion i did, which is that something on the estop board is fried. Teach pendant stays dark. fan is off. 480 is definitely coming in. 24v is coming in. right now we are at mission critical and just cant seem to catch a break. im looking for any help or tips that may get me pointed in the right direction.
