ABB has the singularilty avoidance instruction to lock Axis 4 at 0 or 180 degrees. It should not cost extra, part of the newer robotware.

Hi All
What would be a good rate per hour to pay a robot programmer in the US markets.
I did not consider if you meant good for you or good for them.
Rate per hour for employee with under 0- 3 years work experience ?
Junior programmer
Rate per hour for employee with 0-10 years work experience ?
Senior programmer, 4-10 years. Or more
I am just trying to understand the cost for Robot Programmers in US markets.
There would be two ways that I know of to contract work: 1. Direct to the individual, often they are incorporated or DBA (Doing Business As). You would have to issue them a 1099 form with the wages you paid for their time. Taxes, insurance and such are their problem. A junior programmer might come cheap like $35/hour, but they might not be too proficient. This is pretty much a guess but a senior programmer would probably start more like 50. As always, you might get what you pay for. 2. You contract a company that does specifically robots and maybe also controls. They maintain their employees' taxes insurance and such. Probably going to cost you $50/hour minimum. You could see rates topping $100 per hour.
Whichever you decide to go with, make sure that your requirements are clear, in writing, and agreed upon by both parties.

So then do what it says in #1.
-
That is going to depend on whether you mean that you would like to hire them directly as your employee with some benefits or just hiring someone on contract.

Let me ask you this: Does your program use only MoveL? Or is it also MoveJ and MoveC? If you are using strictly MoveL then you could upload an array of robtargets and write something like this:
PROC Routine1()
nPositions := Dim(MyRobtargetArray);
FOR i FROM 1 TO nPositions DO
MoveL MyRobtargetArray{i}, v100, z5,MyTool\Wobj:=MyWobj;
ENDFOR
ENDPROC

Here is the download link for RobotWare 5.14
https://www.sendspace.com/file/hyo7evYou should be able to use this, add it to robotstudio, when you build the system tell it to use newer robotware.
-
Make a backup. Create system from backup in robotstudio. That is located in the controller tab, installation manager. System builder for RW 5, Installation manager for RW 6. In the file Tab click help for manuals and guidance.
-
Create the system form backup using robotstudio, then modify, removing spotwelding option and the additional axis. I think that there will still be a jumper required for the external axis PTC (overtemp). Refer to IRC5 manual for drawings.

I cannot even move this into the appropriate forum because you failed to tell us what make of robot, controller, etc.,

OK, so there is a PLC, good. What I have done in the past is to use handshake bits like "Step complete". When the robot is sent to the very first pick and it completes the pick, you turn that bit on, wait to see the PLC acknowledge it. Then the PLC says go place, robot turn on bit when place is complete. Repeat until all of the stages of your process has completed. The PLC will track where the cell is in the process. So when someone does "abort all" like I imagine you are asking. Then when you resume the PLC will give the correct command to pick up where you left off in the sequence. Also, if you want to, you could let your operator change the step one back to repeat something that needed a do over or advance the step if necessary, using the HMI I assume you have.

You left out robot type, controller version.
-
Do you have a PLC controlling the robot and cell? Or just the robot?

I made a revision to my random generator, it will select 1-100 all numbers one time only, then reset. You could adapt it to the range of numbers that you require.

Your location would be valuable information to help us help you.

Exercise all necessary precautions for dealing with high voltage. Power down and lock out energy source. Use a matching drive system, the newest is 09 I think and older is 04 or 05. Put the robot at the zero position if you can so that you can update rev counters when finished, if necessary. Should not have to reinstall anything if done right. It might want to update the firmware, but the main computer will figure that out.

Not at the moment.

Check all your cables and connectors inside and out.
