What Yaskawa robot would I need to do CNC Milling, if my machining area is about 300 x 300 x 300mm and must also be capable of changing tools to weld and cut...

Please provide more detail. I want to use MotoGSI, especially the ModbusTCP client on a DX100 and DX200. What are the capabilities of MotoGSI, can you write customs programs with it?

The answer to the ultimate question is ( Drum roll ) ... 42!

If you get the values of the element in you D variables you can monitor it directly if you are using Modbus TCP.

It's a bit of a trick with a DX200. You need to start in maintenance mode, initialise the Profibus card and you need to get into Yaskawa Security mode and for that you need a Yaskawa Representative, because it requires a special key.
The Yaskawa rep can then set the Profibus address of the card and map the Inputs and Outputs for you. What do you monitor etc.
Hopes this helps. -
You can map your robot Inputs and Outputs to your Profibus network, then you can also monitor specific outputs of the Robot to see the condition the controller is in. For example are the Emergency stop buttons pressed, is there and external hold on etc.

Hi
Yes, I've used a raspberry pi with a Yaskawa FS100 controller. We used a normal webcam to do image recognition and object tracking. Everything was written from scratch using Python, and it worked perfectly, we used it at an Expo to demonstrate what we can do, instead of using expensive industrial cameras.
