We have a robot (R-J3iB controller) that won't go past COLD1 in the boot sequence.
We called Fanuc, they said to replace the main board, CPU, and SRAM. We replaced them all and it still wouldn't boot. So we dumped the Image files of another identical robot into it and it booted up. However it thought that it was the other robot. We then dumped an older backup into the robot and it worked. Robot booted up, it ran cycles, life was great.
Then 2 weeks later the robot did it again. Wouldn't boot past COLD1. Fanuc suggested replacing the E-Stop board, the OP Panel board, and the Servo Amplifier board. They also said it was a slim chance that the TP or TP Cable was bad. So, we replaced it all. It still wouldn't boot past COLD1. So we dumped that other robot's image into it and it worked, but thought it was the other robot. So we went back to the older image for this robot and it works again.
It seems like the SRAM gets corrupted at random. It runs fine then all of a sudden it gives us an error about the I\O. The Slot number and the start points will be at zero even though they were set to slot 88 start 1.
Any help would be appreciated. I'm running out of boards to replace.
Thanks
