Original update disks from ABB do not have a serial number as standard. The disc.id file code had to be generated using a software tool. This normally required the original set that was supplied with the robot. The disc.id of the update set could be generated from the disc.id of the old set.
sjx Cool that you have a set without the serial. All the S4 software I received from ABB or a customer came with serial #s. It makes sense for ABB service techs or site support to have disks without serial #s but I was none of those. Always had to fax (later it was email) the form to get the reburns. If earlier in the afternoon, they could still create the disks and send overnight. If it was for the recall, had to send the M94A or early version of 2.0 disks back or get charged. This spans to almost 30 yrs ago so apologize for any missing detail.
