On some XRC robots the teach pendant(PP) have external relays wired in to allow safety conections to the outside world.
2 Yellow Pilz mounted on the din rail on the left bottom of the cabinet next to the external estop wiring terminal strip -
A macro job is used as an instruction (selected from the INFORM list)
it is a special call that can use arguments
using arguments the job can be manipulated to respond differently.
has a higher security access level than standard jobsan example is a job that plots a shape path and creates the points....(circle, square, slot, etc......) based on a single center point.
using arguments the job can change the size and orientation of the shape....
In the following example the job is written as a macro with 1 argument. All the code is hidden and the radius is set to produce different sizes.
CIRCLE is the macro job name
RADIUS is the argument name
20 is the value you can change
NOP
MOVJ //is a starting point
MOVJ //is the center point of shape
CIRCLE RADIUS 20 //the macro to make a circle and use 20 mm for the radius
MOVJ //return to starting point

PLS is a one shot on the rise....PLF is a one shot on the fall
STR #1xxxx
PLS #7xxxx
When 1xxxx goes HIGH the 7xxxx will remain high for 1 scanSTR #1xxxx
PLF #7xxxx
When 1xxxx goes LOW the 7xxxx will remain high for 1 scan -
1. create a new job
2. copy the section of your job you want to adjust
3. paste into the new job
4. set a file to monitor (these units mean nothing to humans)
5. run the new program at full speed, when finished the values equal the MAX level in the program
6. the value in your file needs to be at least 5% above the recorded value to prevent nuisance faults..... -
zip it then post it

Is it a stand alone robot ? or does it have options?......do you have a cmos.bin backup?

The major problem is the amplifier pulse mismatch. Can anyone send me some useful information to reset this alarm and do the factory setting.
You must initialize the system
if it is only a robot....it is easy......if it has external axis....it may be more difficult... -
If the contoller is set up for multi-language SHIFT+AREA will toggle the languages.
If Japanese is set to 1st language this is why it boots to Japanese. -
A couple of flow charts for the signals.....

I started this thread to see what issues any could think of and have come up with some myself.

I heard that this fall there will be some changes to a euro standard for safety and some companies are exploring wireless technology for teach pendants......
Any one have any info on wireless teach pendants......
basically who, how, when???? -
try looking at this book to set-up.......
To force on the outputs .....put the cursor on the bullet and press INTERLOCK and SELECT at the same time... -
Under display on the top line of the screen, while looking at the I/O you can toggle any I/O view from detail to simple to detail......
what Dnet card do you have? PCI?.....Its not a 2 channel PCI is it?.....Do you have the manual on the card?.... -
Yes, SOMAR..... that is the best warning for diving in here......
-
hold down the MAIN MENU button with the controller off....while holding the button turn on the power......It will boot into maintenance mode.........
Now that being said you can really mess up the system here...........you should put a CF (COMPACT FLASH) card in the pendent and save every thing before going any further........CMOS SAVE!!!!!!!!! -
Sorry I mean to say maintenance mode....but then you have to be in management to change.....sorry old age catching up with me......

I don't dislike the funuc robot.....it is a good machine....my 3nd favorite(just because of my experience).....BUT
How does this change giving manuals to people that would purchase a 2nd hand machine?......and the sting of re license has caused some potential lost (just as stated in this forum)...and I have heard such out in the field..these are things that other companies offer ........ the docs and just ask to let them know you have a 2nd hand machine.....this gets you in the door to court a new customer....or do you not need any new customers?....
