  • FANUC RJ3 DEVICENET CONFIG

I can't find the manual that Fanuc sent me in a timely manner. It was a fairly generic manual.

I didn't buy the devicenet motherboard along with the dotherboard from Fanuc, I bought them used and tested on eBay.

I thought I mentioned, maybe I didn't, that the health light is red. Do you think there may be an incompatibility between the rj3 controller and the DN4 dotherboard?

When I ordered the new software and the devicenet license from Fanuc, I talked to them about the motherboard model but never about the dotherboard.

    Hi again.

As I understand it, the dotherboard is the SST-DN4-104, I don't know if it has a sub_code, I would have to disassemble it and see.

It is in rack 81 and the dipswitches are all off.

Fanuc has sent me a devicenet manual but I can't find anything that could be causing the problem.

I have some doubts, as I understand the devicenet networks require external 24v power but the miller supply delivers 24v through V+ and V-, will it also be necessary to power with external 24v? Wouldn't this generate a short circuit?

On the other hand, the Mac ID is set to 1, could this be generating a conflict with the communication of other parts of the robot?

Thank you very much for your response, the devicenet board I have is model A16B-2203-0190/07B. The welding source is the Miller Auto Axcess 300 DI, perhaps because I am completely ignorant on the subject, I interpreted reading the Miller manual that the source provided 24V, does the network always have to be powered with 24V? I attach an image of the devicenet board, I was reading the manual, configure the dotherboard jumpers. If you can guide me on the configuration it would be very helpful.~lg-FANUC-DEVICE-NET-BOARD---USED-(A16B-2203-0190-07B).jpg

Hi Guys, I have a m6ib with rj3 controller and handling tool, I am in Argentina and I have purchased the update to Arctool with the devicenet license from Fanuc. I have installed the update without major complications but the devicenet board does not recognize. The devicenet module has four green lights on the top and two red lights on the dotherboard, power one and hlth. The problem is that the software does not seem to recognize the board. Do any of you know what the initial configuration is for devicenet? Do I have to enable some variable or configure some port?

    Thanks

    Gaston

Hello guys, I have a M6ib robot with rj3ib controller from the year 2002, it is a robot in very good condition. I need to make a backup all of above to the memory card but I can't do it. I am using a 128mb fanuc memory with a PCMCIA adapter and when I try to do the backup it gives me an error that the memory is not formatted and when I try to format it from the TP it gives me a protected card error. I have already tried to format it with the PC in fat and fat32 but I get the same result. Can any of you guide me on what things I can try to solve the problem?

Thank you HawkME! Do you have any Fanuc integrator that you can recommend?

Hi, my name is Gaston, I'm from Argentina and I'm new to the forum. First of all I want to congratulate you all for this great community, I have read and learned many things here.

I bought a 2002 fanuc m6ib robot with rj3ib controller, I don't have the robot license and I want to add devicenet connectivity to connect it to a Miller auto axcess welding source.

I bought the used devicenet board but I have to install the firmware/software update on the controller in order to use it. I have consulted with Fanuc but I would have to buy the basic controller license and the devicenet board license and it is very expensive. Is there a way to update the firmware in another way?
