Did you ever get a good explanation on this?
Also, many folks mention adjusting the variable $SFLT_WAILIM down to 250 from its default value of 1000. There is also a $SFLT_WAITIM variable. Can anyone explain the impacts of adjusting these variables?
I have a pick and place application, where I want to stack parts tight against one-another. Unfortunately I can get the soft float to seemingly operate well with certain part sizes, then when that part size changes it doesn't act right - pushing the entire skid in order to meet the goal PR for the soft float movement. I can adjust the distance I want it to attempt to move, but it varies with part size, so the solution has not been great so far - I would have expected the softfloat, regardless of travel distance, to stop motion when resisted by the previously placed parts and the program to work with one distance setting.
