Turns out that the SafetyGateway board was borked. Replaced it and all the problems just disappeared. Annoyed that this was the fix, but happy it's taken care of

With the wiring on X11 correct, and the ESC diagnostic tools not working, how do I get this working? Any suggestions?
-
On the CI3 board, there is a red led (led23). I found a reference to this in a manual that says it is "ESC bus SafetyBUS Gateway error". The Gateway board shows that the "device is OK".
-
The previous owner moved those two pins from X13 into X11. The wiring is the same and there is 24v across them. I will likely merge those pins back into X13 in the future to bring it back to standard, but I want to get it working first

I can't see exactly what is inside your connector, but it looks like mine is wired the same. Is there anything I need on X12 or X14?
-
This is the plug as it is currently wired. The X13 jumpers were jumped internally to D12 and D13 to keep wiring all on this plug
-
I wired a mating plug with jumpers like on this page and attached it to X11. There isn't really a safetybus functioning because jumpers B1/B4 and B2/B6 should set it in startup mode

Hello!
I'm having trouble with the safety system on my KRC2. It has an extended SafetyBus board. The light on the board says "Device OK" with a green light, but on the pendant, it says:
- Unknown Operation Mode
- Local Protective Stop
- Emergency Stop
- External Emergency Stop Pressed
- Safety Circuit for Drives not ready
Turning the key on the pendant or pressing the e stop has no effect. It is running 5.4.14 with a fresh KSS install. I have the X11 connector wired as the startup plug it shows in the electrical drawings (attached). If I run Monitor > Diagnosis > ESC Diagnosis I get "Error reading diagnostic data", which makes debugging even harder. I've tried everything I can think of just to get the arm to move. I will sort out actual safety later
All images were merged into 1 since I can only upload 2 files

Replaced the hard drive and put on a fresh image from kuka. Still having safety issues, but that doesn't belong in this thread

Literally nothing under the +. Do you know how these sites are setup by kuka?
You can usually export site settings to be imported to another server. Are you able to export yours and I can use those as a basis to recreate mine?

The first picture in post #14 is not showing to much. You need to expand by pressing the "+".
Then you will see web and ftp
When it is expanded, there is nothing. Empty

I'm seeing a bunch of errors in EventViewer. Do any of these look relevant?
-
InetInfo.exe appears to be running. If I look at the IIS config, I see nothing setup.
-
As frustrating as this whole process has been, at least I'm learning a lot!

I'm away from the robot right now, but i believe it's 5.4.14. So, it's using IIS for FTP? Why would Cross3 come up, or is that a different Cross3 than the FTP one?
-
Cross3 seems to be working properly. I don't see any errors, and there is a keepalive every 1-2 seconds.
I'm now thinking the problem is hard drive failure. I tried reinstalling KSS again and it failed with an error about the main user not being an administrator, but windows sees it as an admin. Waiting on a sata adapter to put in a different drive and try an image
-
All of these files are read by the base system requesting the data from ftp server (windows side).
If all the files seem fine then I would expect a problem with the ftp server.
The controller having an FTP server is news to me. Where would I find documentation on the ftp server? I don't see any reference to it in the user manual

I took a full image so I have a backup and reinstalled KSS. I told it to overwrite all of the settings and re entered the arm model, but after a restart, I have exactly the same problem as before. The pendant displays information, but none of the buttons work, and I'm getting the same errors about being unable to read ini files. Do I have to do something fancy to completely blow away the old setup and do a fresh install of kss?
-
Agreed. I don't have anything that still has IDE to actually do the backup. Waiting on a drive toaster to arrive
edit - Just realized that i can run clonezilla live on the robot controller and backup to a usb. Not sure why I didn't think of this before...
