Good Evening, Ya'll,
I want to view the resistance welding parameters of a Nadex weld controller on my TP and be able to edit from the robot, not the controller via the use of a TB40 weld controller teach box. Or, if it is possible from the station's monitoring PC. The node address of all of the timer is .050 except in two robot applications where a one is simply added. These are Japanese sourced controllers so every time i speak to the Fanuc tech support that is stumbling block for them and lately I havent even been able to get in touch with them via the convenience of the chat in CRC.
I can see recorded data in .ls files from the Fanuc process monitors but I can't see where to access the current data in the weld controller from the tp. This is troublesome because when i am gathering data for document control purposes i have to be in the front of the cell where the controller plugs into the weld controller's monitoring box. The cells are small and leaving room for me to gather data and the operator to work normally is quite difficult and even unsafe at times.
I have approximately 50 weld controllers that i need to implement some type of process improvement on for this data acquisition and editing process.
So, is there some PC interface or RB software option I am not utilizing or need to purchase. We have the spot tool plus and material handler package with the 4D option purchased as well.
I figure there is some way that i just haven't been able to understand from digging through the manuals of the rb and the weld controller. We also use Motoman robots and they do have the ability to view and edit spot weld data stored in the controller so I am wondering why that isnt the case on my Fanuc rbs because they are held to a higher standard and should do everything and more that the BBs do. Ask me what BB means and I will divulge further but I don't think we can cuss in here. I don't like the motoman rbs except for that feature and their user friendly tp.
