First: I am new to robot programming
I am working on an old Fanuc RJ2 with LR Mate 200iB. The teach pendant controlls and programming are running well.
Now I want to start and stop programs from my computer. Maybe even edit the programs. The stop is for safety and triggerd by an (not yet existing) force sensor. What is the best way to set this up? (step by step)
It seems my only possibilities to connect are the RS232 Port (25 pins) or using I/O. I guess RS232 is the easy way? I already found a thread about how to connect RS232 25 pin to RS232 9 pin:

The PC Developers Kit (PCDK) seems to do what I want. It's hard to find a good documentation about it. I only found out that is is working with RJ3. Will it work with my RJ2?
KFloppy can be used to manage your programs from your computer, but seems to only edt stored data. No program start or stop here?
Are there freeware options? I read about ROS industrial having fanuc support, but couldn't find tutorials for controlling fanuc roboters. (Only simulating them)
